DO YOU HAVE TOASTER CRUMBS ON YOUR COUNTER TOO?

I walked into the house after work and almost had a breakdown. Mind you, I cleaned the house yesterday. Sweeped, mopped, dishes laundry, etc. But that wasn't every room in the house either. There are 10 rooms here, including 2 bathrooms.
I WANT TO KNOW.....do all of you have a spotless house? Do you do this stuff everyday? I guess I just want to quit feeling inferior. I CAN'T DO IT!! I can get some rooms done but not all. I find I have laundry everyday, no matter what. Dishes everyday, no matter what. Crumbs ALWAYS needding to be cleaned off the counters. Floors always needing to be swept. On and on and on and on. Today it's really bugging me...I just wanna know.....Do real people get it done EVERYDAY? And if not, what is it you leave undone usually?
Corie dear....you seem so organized but I was never so happy to hear you had dust bunnies and i mean that in such a good way cause you seem to do things so perfectly!
And to all that respond to my posts....I have yet to REALLY learn how to respond so please don't think I'm ignoring you. Hell, I'm probably busy cleaning up crumbs under the toaster that I never use (instead of responding to everyone) . How do you suppose they get under there when it's not in use?????????????????????????????

Karen, oh, Karen...
I know you are having some rough, frustrating times right now.
I'm sure we are strengthening our character through all of this!!!
Hang in there and if there is anything I can do, let me know!!!

About cleaning...
I'm fortunate that I don't have as many rooms to keep clean! :)
I try to clean once a week, and by clean, I mean dust, sweep, wipe everything down.... I'll "straighten up" through out the week, but save the cleaning for Saturdays. I don't do the bigger things like mop, clean appliances, ceiling fans, windows every week... just as needed, sometimes not even that. If you saw our ceiling fans, you would know that they haven't been cleaned in quite some time. If I don't have time, I usually leave out the bedroom. Don't ask me why, but I guess it is because only Keith and I see that room.

Thanks for the compliment, although I struggle with keeping up with everything too. I just have to make myself do it. We talked about how that is just my personality. But, yes, I have dust bunnies and brown balls all over my apartment. :)

WOW! Wasn't that a long post?!?
And, as I looked over it, probably a long post with absolutely zero helpful information!

Karen,
I got to your blog from a link on Corie's blog. I'm not a blogger but I do love reading other peoples. I think mine would not be to interesting. First I'd like to tell you, you are perfectly normal and you could stay and enjoy Mondays at the Y. (Good for you) its always tough to get started but it does make you feel so good about yourself, and even though you won't want to undress in front of the current Mrs you'll know that you could if you wanted!!!
About that cleaning thing--I am 46, so close to your age, and I have come to the realization that I don't have to get it all done. It's okay. Those that do, live in a different world than I do and I don't want to live there. Always that pressure of having to be the perfect housekeeper. What's the big deal?? Sometimes I feel overwhelmed but than I remember if I don't get it done today it will be there tomorrow. If you get it all done then there would be that nagging feeling--hmmm shouldn't I be doing something?? and you'll just constantly be looking for something to keep yourself busy. So my advice is do a little each day, and some days don't do anything, just sit and relax with a good book or go to the Y. Do something for yourself because you deserve it. We work hard all our lives and we forget to stop and smell the roses.
Sorry this got kind of long. Hope it helps to know that you are not out there alone.

If you want an excuse to not cook or clean, just get pregnant. :) That's what I've done.

Okay, just kidding, very bad idea. At this point I'd take cleaning 10 rooms over being pregnant.

My life motto has been, "some is better than none." A little each day, here and there. Be proud of yourself what you DO get done and don't get down on yourself for what you didn't get done.

Ohhhhh Sarah.....God love you but I rather clean every house in south St. Louis than become pregnant again. Thank you for your comments!

And Linda.....That's great sound advice.... and at our age...housekeeping should never be a priority. REALLY! Heck, we've done it our whole lives. BUT...I want you to know there were MORE crumbs under that damn toaster again today. WHAT THE HECK?????
But thank you thank you thank you!!

Your blog cracks me up :) My house is no way spotless. I actually went on strike two weeks ago because I was tired of cleaning and everyone trashing behind me. After 6 days my family finally understood my complaint.

My biggest advice is to pick one day for a deep clean and then do just minor stuff the rest of the time.

Good luck!

I

starting using this oil when I colored my hair at the recommendation of my hairdresser because my hair sometimes felt limp and lifeless. I still use it now that I've let my gray grow out. It makes my hair

feel and smell great. I found that I don't have to wash my hair every day; I just spread some Curl Cream on my hands and scrunch it through my hair and it works out the "bedhead" look. I don't have super

curly hair; in fact, when I wash it, it looks straight. My hairdress is the one who showed me, using the Curl Cream, that my hair is actually naturally curly..not just wavy. I love it and use it nearly every

day.

My daughter has had

this for almost 3 months now and is very pleased with it. It heats rapidly and her hair doesn't look dry after using it. It doesn't seem to have the "cord" issues that she had with her chi.

My stylist recommended this product for my medium to long hair that tends to have some wave and frizz. I

have never had a flat iron, but I can successfully get the smooth, straight look I want in 7 minutes, and my hair is pretty thick. The iron heats up in one minute, and is easy to use because of its slim

design. I would recommend not starting at anything beyond the 35-40 setting to start with or you may really damage your hair. Other than that, this is a great purchase and I'm happy to have it!
